Venezuela, China work to recover 600,000 hectares for productive apparatus

Caracas, 26 Ene. AVN.- About 600 thousand hectares will be recovered and conditioned in order to add them to the social productive apparatus, thanks to a cooperation accord signed between Venezuela and China, informed Agriculture and Lands Minister Juan Carlos Loyo.

These hectares embrace eight big projects of rural development, which include repairing roads, creating irrigation systems, constructing agricultural infrastructure and food-processing plants.

For it, the Venezuelan State has invested about 4.5 billion dollars, the Minister informed.

"It is one of the most ambitious programs we have. Cooperation with the People's Republic of China has allowed to increase our scientific, technological and infrastructure capacities because those are superior accords which will result in significant achievements," he added.

Also, Minister Loyo highlighted the significance of accords signed with Iran and Argentina to manufacture and import machinery, tractors and harvesters.

Accords with Brazil and Nicaragua to import seeds of soy and heifers, respectively, were also stood out by the Minister.

He said it is as well important the "trade and export of flowers to Russia, so as to export 130 thousand stems of a large variety of flowers to that nation, which are sowed by our flower growers."
