An article on Venezuelan cuisine has been published on the London Confidential website. The piece, written by journalist Penelope Walsh focuses particularly on the mouthwatering Venezuelan Christmas recipes that she tasted at the Venezuelan Christmas Bazaar hosted by the Embassy. Dishes on offer included pan de jamón, a sweet bread stuffed with ham, olives and raisins, hallacas, a sweat corn dough with meat and vegetables wrapped in banana leaves, and of course, classic Venezuelan arepas.
Penelope writes about the similarities that Venezuelan cusine bears to the cusine's of other countries in the region as well as the differences. She notes: "Nowadays, many fashionable South Americans opt for turkey on Christmas day. Venezuela’s traditional Christmas dishes are, however, considered to be the most distinct throughout Latin America."
The piece also features interviews with London-based Venezuelan chef.
