Venezuelan Embassy in London participates in laying of the wreath to commemorate Karl Marx’s anniversary.

Over a hundred people gathered in Highgate Cemetery to lay floral tributes at the grave of Karl Marx.

The event, known as the Annual Karl Marx Oration, was organised by the Communist Party of Britain to celebrate his 192nd anniversary.  Jean Turner, Secretary of the Society for Co-operation in Russian and Soviet studies, was invited to speak.

The Counsellor of the Venezuelan Embassy, Alvaro Sanchez, laid a wreath on behalf of the embassy and the Venezuelan people.

Marx was born in Trier, Germany, on the 5th of May 1818, and died in London, on the 14th of March 1883, where he lived for 34 years and wrote Das Kapital.
