Artists unite for Chile

A host of musicians gathered at Bolivar Hall to perform in a fund-raising for Chile following the earthquake that affected the city of Concepción and other areas last February.

The event, which took place last Thursday the 29th of April, was organised by the Association of Cultural Attachés of Latin America, Spain and Portugal (ACALASP) with the participation of various musical groups and composers.  The concert was also attended by the ambassadors and other institutions supporting the event.

The programme presented over 12 artists including the groups Lokandes, Raíces Latinoamericanas, Belo Tango, Ahmed Dickinson among others.  And a raffle with prizes also took place in the interval.

"The idea for the concert was to showcase our culture and values and also express our solidarity with the Chilean people", said Guillermo Pardave, President of ACALASP.

The Deputy Head of Mission at the Chilean Embassy, Rodrigo Espinosa, expressed his heartfelt thanks to Venezuelan Embassy for its contribution and collaboration in the planning of the event.
