Venezuela's scientific police captures Colombian drug dealer wanted by Interpol
Caracas, Feb 23 ABN.- Venezuela's Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Force (CICPC) caught an alleged Colombian drug dealer wanted by the Interpol, during an operation carried out in the northwestern state Carabobo.
The information was said by Venezuela's Minister of Interior Relations and Justice, Tareck El Aissami, who explained that the drug dealer wanted by the Interpol with a red notice was identified as Gerardo Javier Sanchez Naranjo.
El Aissami expressed that the 54 year-old man was an important chief of a drug cartel and he would be deported and so he will be under the orders of the Colombian justice.
“We have already informed the Colombian authorities about the arrest and Suarez Naranjo is being transferred to Caracas following drastic security measures,” he added.
Similarly, the Minister announced the interception of a Cessna aircraft in northwestern state Yaracuy, which led to the finding of a clandestine landing strip.
“After investigations and thanks to intelligence information, we managed to find a clandestine landing strip. Later on, we proceeded to arrest six Venezuelan citizens in possession of 350 kilograms of cocaine,” he said.
Minister El Aissami expressed that these two procedures “show the efficiency and the achievements obtained in the fight against drug traffic, thanks to the National Plan of Prevention and the Bicentenary Security Operation.”
