Successful conference at Bolivar Hall underlines Venezuelan security
The conference Venezuela under Attack took place in Bolivar Hall on Saturday the 27th of March and was attended by more than 150 people. The event celebrated the social achievements of Venezuela but also underlined the very real threat to peace and democracy in Latin America posed by US military intervention.
The members of the expert panel included the Labour MPs Jeremy Corbyn and Colin Burgon, writer and journalist Hugh O’Shaunessy, the Chair of the CND Kate Hudson and the Venezuelan Ambassador to London Samuel Moncada, among others.
The members of the panel spoke on a variety of issues including the proliferation of new US military bases in Latin America, the media’s role in discrediting the Venezuelan government and the need to strengthen international solidarity for Venezuela and other progressive governments in Latin America.
