Oxford University Professor speaks at Bolivar Hall

As part of the programme of academic conferences at the Venezuelan Embassy in London, Oxford historian, Julio Crespo MacLennan, spoke of his experiences of the European Union at a forum entitled “Lessons of the European Union Union".


Dr MacLennan is a contemporary historian whose academic career includes a study on European-Latin American relations, particularly relations between Spain and Latin America. 

In his talk, Dr MacLennan offered a historical outline of the emergence of the European Union and its well defined historical roots that could offer lessons to Latin America in the areas of economic integration, politics and culture.


After Dr MacLennan's talk, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions and offer opinions.


Dr MacLennan is a professor at St Anthony's College, Oxford University, and has wide experience as a Spanish diplomatic representative in Turkey and the Republic of Ireland.
