News: Documentary on Venezuela 'Inside the Revolution' Wins Prize at Chilean Film FestivalAlborada Films’ first release ‘Inside the Revolution: A Journey into the Heart of Venezuela’ has won a prize at the ‘4th Festival of Human Rights and Social Cinema’ (4to Festival de Cine Social y de los Derechos Humanos) held in the Chilean city of Valparaiso in January 2010.
‘Inside the Revolution’, a documentary that explores the changes underway in Venezuela under the Chavez government, was initially screened as part of the festival’s ‘Social Movement’ strand.
The Spanish-subtitled version of the documentary, entitled ‘Desde Dentro: Un Viaje al Corazón de la Revolución Venezolana’ won best film within the ‘Social Movement’ strand. The festival’s jury, who chose each of the 13 festival strand winners, included Dutch filmmaker, Jan Kees de Rooy, and Bolivian journalist and filmmaker, Soledad Domínguez. ‘Inside the Revolution’s’ executive producer, Roberto Navarrete, was present at the festival and introduced the screening of the film.
The festival, held between the 2nd and the 9th of January 2010, screened over 90 films and documentaries.
