Venezuela sets example of new constitutionalism

Caracas, Dec 09 ABN.- Venezuela has set a world pace with the new constitutionalism, since the call to a Constituent Assembly, to people's participation and the approval of an exemplary democratic Constitution, affirmed the head of the national Supreme Court of Justice Luisa Estella Morales.

“The new constitutionalism came to existence in Venezuela,” she said.

The judge expressed that the Venezuelan people have directed the creation of the national Constitution, which was born 10 years ago by means of a Constituent National Assembly, called by the people.

According to her, it is necessary that the State and power are one and that the different powers must work unitedly and boosting collaboration.

“There are no three powers in Venezuela. We are five powers. Here, we have finished with the paradigm of three constituted powers,” Morales added.

Similarly, she commented the need of creating a new academic of juridical sciences in order to analyze the ways law is expressed. “It is necessary to create a new academy that gathers the view of the people (...) Powers have to be created from the roots.”

Moreover, Morales expressed that powers (Judicial, Executive, Electoral, Moral and People's power) strengthen with people's participation.

Finally, she added that Venezuela will have a more respectable judicial power when it is shaped from the roots, with the people.
