Bolivian Ambassador to the United Kingdom speaks about the Hydrocarbon industry in Bolivia.

The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Windsor Energy Group (WEG) hosted the “Latin American and Energy Roundtable” conference in the Bolivar Hall, this was to highlight the importance of energy sectors in Latin America.

The conference was divided in panel discussions which included contributions from the Ambassadors to the United Kingdom for : Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Brazil and Mexico.

In Ambassdor Souviron’s presentation she gave the audience (which consisted of representatives from various energy sectors) an insight on the nationalisation of hydrocarbons, and how the state had taken control the industry “ 44 operation contracts are working in the country to tackle exploration and production. These agreements were signed by Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) which is the largest energy company in Bolivia and PetroAndina SAM”.

Ambassador Souviron also discussed about the industrialisation of gas in Bolivia, and how the industrialisation of gas lead to the creation of Empressa Boliviana de Industrialization de los Hidrocarburos(EBIH) , Hydrocarbon Industrialisatin Company (HIC).

Ambassador Souviron highlighted another important factor which affects the Bolivian energy sector which is Bolivias energy alternative Lithium. “Bolivias lithium is 60% of global reserves and it could help”.
