Ambassador Moncada talks about the dangers of the US military bases in Colombia

The Venezuelan Ambassador in the United Kingdom, Samuel Moncada, spoke about the dangers for the region of the US military bases to be set up in Colombia in the near future.

“History is likely to be repeated in the region; despite the hopes that Venezuela had on the new US government towards Latin America, now we face the reality of the military bases in Colombia. That is why we want to declare Latin America as a peace region as we did in 1948, when we stated that the continent was a region free of nuclear weapons” said Moncada at Bolivar Hall during the launching of the book The Priest of Paraguay by Hugh O’Shaughnessy.

Moncada invited the audience to participate next Thursday, September 10th at a meeting to be held at Bolivar Hall about US military bases in Colombia.

Two great speakers have been invited to this meeting: Grace Livingstone, journalist and author of the book America’s Backyar, and Francisco Dominguez, Head of the Brazilian and Latin American Department at Middlesex University in London.

This event will begin at 7:30 p.m.
