The Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela received the award for Diplomat of the Year for the Americas

The Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the United Kingdom Samuel Moncada received the award “Diplomat of the Year for the Americas 2009”, which was handed out by the prestigious magazine “Diplomat” a very important publication for the Diplomatic community in Great Britain.

The decsion on who will get the award was made by a group from the magazine as well as a group which consisted of twenty judges from the Diplomatic community in London., who on their behalf were determined to highlight the numerous achievments of Venezuelan Ambassador Samuel Moncada in the United Kingdom.

“The reason why Ambassador Moncada deserves this award is due to his professional and academic background which has shined significantly in his personality and his diplomatic career, and also the impact he has had on British media when defending his country and its sovereignty”, Said Hugo de Blocq Van Kuffeler the editor of the magazine.

His Excelleny was very thankful for the gesture, infront of a large crowd of Ambassadors and other personalities in touch with the Diplomatic world.

“This award is a stimulation for the Embassy and it is a way for the embassy to continue striving for ways to improve relations between Venezuela, the British Society and the Diplomatic community in London. The objective of the Venezuelan Embassy in the UK is to strengthen relations and increase solidarity between the people in both countries”, said the Ambassador.  

The award  “Diplomat of the Year for the Americas”, is handed out every year by the magazine “Diplomat” to Diplomats from five continents and to the Diplomat with the most outstanding achievements.
